The BUNKHOUSE

A handcrafted 350 sq ft retreat with reclaimed California Redwood parquet floors and Baltic birch plywood from floor to ceiling. Expands the sleeping space on the property by an additional 4 persons. The living space boasts an oversized sectional couch that has frequently seats 7+ guests, and a wood-burning cookstove with a built-in baking oven heats the space and allows us to fill the space with the smell of warm bread as we bake over the wood.
Thoughtful design choices from the solid-oak lattice bathroom door to the, built-in USB and outlet charging in every sleeping and sitting space, and a covered deck with Lake Superior views. This incredibly well designed luxury space redefines what you expect from a "Bunkhouse"

Sleeping Details

The Bunkhouse increased the cabin's sleeping capacity by an additional 4 people across 3 sleeping areas, each with its own dimmable lighting controls and 120v outlet for charging.

A queen bed occupies a private alcove with a large window overlooking the forest. Two twin bunk lofts towards the back, reached by hand-built cubby steps, all enclosable by concealed velvet blackout curtains. Each loft has its own openable window, charging outlet and lighting controls, creating cozy, private berths that kids and adults alike tend to claim quickly.

All bedding and linens are provided.

Bathroom

The Bunkhouse has a small toilet/changing room equipped with a mirror, changing station and a state-of-the-art off grid Cinderella Comfort incinerating toilet, a premium Norwegian-engineered waterless toilet that uses high-temperature incineration to reduce all waste to a small amount of sterile, odorless ash. The system is fully vented to the outside, so the bathroom stays fresh, orderless and clean. Long gone are the days of out-houses or composting toilets.

The toilet has some simple but special instructions required to keep it clean and functional.
